on a very rainy Monday indeed ...

founding members of a brand new textile art group got together at The Borlase Smart Room, Porthmeor Studios on Back Road West in St. Ives, arriving rather bedraggled and soggy, to drink tea, introduce themselves and talk a little about their work and inspirations

everyone settled easily and very soon ideas were mooted and plans were made for a very exciting programme of  work, meetings and workshops throughout the coming year ahead.  The group plans to work to a theme, working with drawing, printing, design, embroidery, applique, patchwork, collage, quilting, beadwork, etc. and recording/sampling in sketchbooks with a view to sharing work at exhibition during the St. Ives September Festival week in 2015

there will be more about the chosen theme as work develops

St. Ives Textiles is very proud to be a part of Porthmeor Studios in St. Ives
with it's inspiring surroundings, iconic art and fishing history
