Sadly we lost our very good friend Margaret (a founding member of St Ives Textiles) this year after a short illness.

Margaret was a lovely, kind and generous lady and a very talented and inspiring textile artist.  She loved being part of our group, and she will be missed very much.

As a tribute to Margaret, we have left her statement and images of her work for all to continue to enjoy.

Textiles have played a huge part in my life from an early age.  I have always been fascinated by colour, texture and threads.  Since retiring from a career in education I have been able to develop skills and techniques by attending City and Guilds Courses and a variety of workshops.

My work is heavily influenced by my surroundings - whether it be nature or architecture. I love bright colours and I create pieces using my own dyed fabrics and threads which are hand and machine stitched and decorated with buttons, beads and covered washers.  I enjoy working in 3D making bags and vessels.  I love to share my passion for textiles with others and I am available to teach workshops
